A surprise governance proposal within the Aave ecosystem has cleared its first major hurdle, fueling optimism around the future of the Aave token. The initiative, titled “Aave Will Win”, has officially passed the Temp Check phase—Aave DAO’s preliminary voting stage—marking a notable step toward a more token-centric economic model.

Stani Kulechov confirmed the outcome publicly, describing it as progress toward restructuring the protocol so that 100% of revenue generated by Aave-branded products ultimately benefits the Aave ecosystem through the DAO treasury.

“The Temp Check phase has been successfully completed. This brings Aave Labs closer to a fully token-focused model, allocating 100% of product revenue to the Aave token. The next step is to move the proposal to the ARFC phase by making structural improvements based on community feedback.”

What the “Aave Will Win” Proposal Includes

The proposal requests approval from the Aave DAO for an operational framework aimed at strengthening sustainability, governance alignment, and long-term token value. Key elements include:

  • 100% revenue allocation to the DAO treasury: All revenue generated from Aave-branded products would be transferred to the Aave DAO treasury.
  • Brand protection commitment: A commitment to implement a solution intended to protect the Aave brand and its usage.
  • Aave V4 as the future technical foundation: Aave V4 has been approved as the future technical foundational infrastructure of the protocol.
  • DAO growth financing framework: Establishing a framework for the DAO to finance strategic growth and development activities.

Why the Vote Matters for Aave

This early vote is drawing attention across the DeFi community because it strengthens the relationship between protocol performance and token value. By shifting product revenue directly into the DAO treasury and reinforcing a token-focused model, the proposal aims to build a clearer, more sustainable value flow around Aave.

Supporters argue that the approach could improve long-term alignment between holders, contributors, and governance—especially as decentralized lending competition continues to intensify across the broader market.

What Happens Next

With the Temp Check phase complete, the proposal is expected to advance to the ARFC (Aave Request for Comment) phase. During this stage, the structure may be refined based on additional community feedback before moving toward a potential final on-chain vote.
